The product is very good, but the price is slightly high, so I am giving it only 4 stars. If the price can be lowered a little, the product will sell very well.

This one lasts. It detaches berries gently and without tearing, unlike the cheap versions.

A berry picker that passes from generation to generation

In the old days, everything was made to last. Tools and other everyday items were crafted from iron, wood, and other natural materials. When the old berry picker was retrieved from the attic shelf at the end of summer, it brought with it a piece of shared family and generational history: the picker might have been homemade, and it had been used to pick berries by children, parents, and grandparents alike.

Today, materials and manufacturing methods have changed, but nothing prevents us from still making quality everyday items. Poimu berry pickers have been developed to carry on the tradition of old, good metal pickers as a Finnish, reliable, and long-lasting berry picking tool.

Forests are a treasure trove — let’s make the most of them!

The yield of Finnish wild berries averages around 500 million kilograms per year, and the vast majority of this — an estimated 90 percent — goes unpicked.

According to recommendations, it would be good to eat a couple of decilitres of wild berries per day, which amounts to around 70 litres per year. Picking this amount takes anywhere from just a few hours to a few days, depending on the location, the picker’s pace, and the abundance of the harvest.

Poimu’s goal is to inspire and encourage Finns to return to the berry forest. On this website and our social media channels, we share information not only about the Poimu product family, but also about berry picking and nature-connected everyday life. The berries are out there in the forest, waiting for us — let’s go and pick them!
